Dr Bala S Manian

Dr. Manian has been an entrepreneurial innovator, investor and a mentor in the Silicon Valley entrepreneurial community for the last three decades. At present Dr. Manian is focused on ReaMetrix, which he founded in May of 2003. ReaMetrix is focused on bringing affordable and yet economically attractive solutions to address the needs of developing nations. ReaMetrix is using this activity as an incubation center to evolve out-of- box thinking to driving innovations in global health.

Dr. Manian is a founder and/or a co-founder of a large number of successful life science and medical technology companies in Silicon Valley over the last thirty years. He was a member of the faculty at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY for four years before his activities in Silicon Valley. Over the last eight years he has been spending a lot of time in India on the ground and that experience has shaped his views on what can and cannot be accomplished through India. He serves on the board of BIOCON, a leading Biotechnology company in India. He also serves as an advisor to several Governmental & non-Governmental life science initiatives in India.

He holds a B. S. degree in Physics from the University of Madras, an M. S. degree in Applied Optics from the University of Rochester, and a Ph. D. in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.

Dr. Subir Banerji

Dr. Subir Banerji qualified with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from The University of Newcastle Upon Tyne Dental School, UK. He completed his Fellowship of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists after completing a course at the Centre of Implant and Reconstructive Surgery, London. He completed his Masters in Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) from the University of London. He is a Senior Postgraduate Tutor for the Master’s in Clinical Dentistry and the Master’s in Advanced General Dental Practice, King’s College London Dental Institute. As Deputy Programme Director of the Master’s degree in Aesthetic Dentistry he has been closely involved in the development of the world’s first MSc in this discipline of dentistry to be obtained by candidates located anywhere in the world where there is access to a computer and the internet. He is also an examiner for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes and a visiting Consultant to the SDM School of Dental Sciences, Karnataka, India. He has been in Private Practice in Ealing, London since 1987.

Dr Banerji has lectured and given numerous courses both nationally and internationally on the subjects of aesthetics, implants, fixed and removable prosthodontics and restorative dentistry. He has published in numerous national and international journals and is involved in dental research. His areas of interest are in aesthetic dentistry, restorative, fixed and removable prosthodontics and the surgical, restorative and prosthodontic rehabilitation of patients with dental implants.

Dr. Rajani Battu

Dr Rajani Battu is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Chief of Vitreo-Retinal Surgery at Narayana Nethralaya, Narayana Health City, Bangalore. She obtained her fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. She underwent fellowship training in vitreo-retinal surgery at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. One of her main areas of interest apart from her clinical work is Telemedicine and she is in the process of establishing a Teleophthalmology program at Narayana Nethralaya.

Prof Jamadagni

Prof. HS Jamadagni, Professor at Centre for Electronics Design and Technology (CEDT), IISc, Bangalore, received Masters and PhD degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He was the chairman of CEDT during 1996 – 2009. He teaches in the areas of embedded systems, communication networks, wireless sensor networks, and VLSI design. His current research work is in application of DSP in communication systems, application of IT in health care, conservation and development, as well as computing architectures for high-speed wireless networks. He has active collaboration with several Industries and educational institutions such as EPFL, Switzerland.

Dr. Arun Mukherjee

Dr. Arun Mukherjee is a Senior Consultant in Internal Medicine and a Senior Physician at Majeedia Hospital, Hamdard University, New Delhi. He is the Founder Trustee & Director of FSMHP-UDAAN-INDIRA Projects. He is an authority on Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for children with Cerebral Palsy and Autism.
